Biden Pays $6 Billion Ransom Payment to Iran

In 2016, John Kerry negotiated an infamous $1.7 billion ransom payment to Iran for the release of five U.S. hostages – including $400 million in literal pallets of cash. Well, it turns out Kerry only had a master’s degree in appeasement. Biden’s diplomats have a Ph.D.

BREAKING NEWS: They just agreed to provide Iran $6 billion for the release of five U.S. hostages. That’s an inflation rate of 253%.

• This equals to roughly $1.2 billion per American set to be released, making this the LARGEST RANSOM PAYMENT IN U.S. HISTORY.

• And it will place a massive bullseye target on every American traveling abroad – they will now be the most valuable asset any terror group or rogue regime could capture.

Six billion dollars is an enormous amount of money for the Iranian regime which, due to its weak economy, can make that money go incredibly far. For reference, the regime could use that money to fund:

• 240,000 Shahed-136 suicide drones –like the ones they’ve been sending to Russia to destroy Ukrainian cities.

• 24 years’ worth of budget for the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, which is trying to build a nuclear weapon to fulfill its dreams of “wiping Israel off the map”.

• 10 months of Iran’s entire military and terror budget, currently responsible for trying to assassinate a dozen U.S. citizens, destroy Israel, and destabilize the entire Middle East.

According to the Iranian government, the United States will provide that money to a special bank account before the U.S. hostages are allowed to leave the country. That’s like giving a gunman a bag of cash before he even releases his hostages.

The Biden Administration’s spin machine is about to run on overtime to try to convince Americans this isn’t pure diplomatic malpractice. If they succeed, they will continue onto an even more destructive deal to legitimize Iran’s nuclear program. We need to push back on this horrendous deal on all cylinders.

Biden Fact Check

Team Biden Claim: This isn’t a ransom payment or even sanctions relief – it’s all Iran’s money.

Reality: This money was frozen by the Trump Administration’s sanctions against Iran’s oil sales – it should go to the U.S. victims of Iranian terrorism. It is being unfrozen by the Biden Administration – that’s the definition of sanctions relief.

Team Biden Claim: All this money will go to pay for food and medicine for Iranians.

Reality: This is just like the UN’s infamous “Oil-for-Food” program that was shut down after enormous corruption. Meanwhile, Iranian officials have a long history of smuggling medicine and food on the black market to pay for terrorism. Regime officials don’t care for the wellbeing of the Iranian people – that’s why they massacred hundreds of protesters last year, and why they cut funding during COVID to increase spending on their terror program.

Team Biden Claim: If we don’t pay the ransom to Iran, Americans won’t be able to come home.

Reality: The Trump Administration negotiated two prisoner exchanges with Iran that saw Americans Xiyue Wang and Michael White released from Iranian prison –without spending a single dollar. The Biden Administration needs to negotiate a better deal –not pay ransom.

CALL TO ACTION

Members of Congress and candidates should highlight this inexcusable ransom payment and call for accountability.

Issue statements condemning the $6 billion payment of ransom to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Demand that Biden not release the ransom payment to Iran, that the funds be turned over to U.S. victims or terrorism, and that Biden increase sanctions on the regime.

Call for the re-instatement of the strict travel restrictions on Iranian diplomats in New York City until the threats against Americans stop and every American hostage is returned home. Biden dropped the travel restrictions in February 2021, and Iranian agents have tried to assassinate nearly a dozen Americans since then.
