The storm clouds are gathering once again.
My grandparents saw them 85 years ago when Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union plotted to divide up Europe, and Imperial Japan loomed over East Asia and the Pacific. The deluge came and inundated the world for six years from 1939 to 1945- with tens of millions left dead. We were left with scattered thunderstorms during the Cold War, before some thought sunny skies awaited us in the “End of History”, after the fall of the Soviet Union.
These hopes were wrong.
America’s enemies around the world are growing in strength. They are conspiring. They have many goals, but they are unified on this one: defeating the United States.
The alliances have been drawn and the wars have begun. The public sees Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but there is a dozen more simmering under the surface.
China’s military is growing at an enormous rate. Their Navy is larger than ours, their nuclear arsenal is set to quadruple in size in the next ten years.
Meanwhile, President Biden wants to cut our defense budget, shrink the number of ships this year, and refuses to leave a nuclear treaty with Russia that Putin announced they won’t abide by anymore.
President Biden lets Iranian operatives walk the streets of New York City while their assassins hunt down dissidents in Brooklyn. My former boss and my former colleagues live under 24-hour security because the Iranian regime is trying to murder them and their families- on American soil.
Tens of thousands of Americans have been killed by the chemical weapon, fentanyl- whose precursors were manufactured in China, specially made for the journey through Mexico and into American neighborhoods. The CCP watches and gloats as these chemicals massacre us by the thousands.
Anyone who has been to our southern border knows we aren’t in control. Cartel watchtowers line the southern side of the Rio Grande. Cartel gunmen and drug runners cross daily with impunity.
While the storm clouds grow, we will be here to make sense of it all for you. I started this substack -Killbox- to get away from hot takes, and to instead share stories and visions for what a strong American foreign policy can and should be.
In “Killbox” you’ll hear from America’s leaders and patriots fighting our enemies on the front line every day. We’re kicking off with this piece by my friend, Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz, whose 15th Congressional District in Texas covers nearly 40 miles of the border with Mexico. She describes how murderers, child abusers, and gang members who have been expelled from our country are coming right back to Texas communities.
I’m using this substack as an opportunity to take you behind the scenes and deeper than is able on television. There’s so many places to receive your news today, but when you think about the world, I hope you’ll stop here.
